Our Mission

Food4Life is a teen-led organization which advocates for self-reliance in health and nutrition education in youth to combat food insecurity. Our mission is to increase self-reliance in health, nutrition education and food security for youth globally, with an aim to promote health and education, specifically addressing United Nations Sustainable Development Goals "SDG2: Zero Hunger", "SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being", and "SDG 4: Quality Education". The 4 pillars of “Food4Life” are Food Security Research; Nutrition Education; Sustainable Future Advocacy and Volunteering. It focuses on education and empowerment rather than dependency-creating aid packages, by building health literacy that creates lasting behavior change across generations. We serve underprivileged youth and food-insecure families in underserved communities who lack access to quality nutrition education and healthy food environments. Our work particularly benefits communities facing compounding health challenges from both food insecurity and lack of education.

Food Insecurity is a Global Health Issue

Hunger and food insecurity are major global health issues that affect millions of people who don't know where the next meal will come from. Global food insecurity and malnutrition is a major crisis, with over 295 million people facing hunger today, and this number is only increasing as the years go by. The zero hunger goal set by the United Nations is at risk as more than 600 million people worldwide are projected to face hunger by 2030. The impacts of this problem, especially for Children and Youth, have devastating outcomes such as malnutrition, chronic disease, and stunted growth.
